I got in touch with an old friend the other day. She and I went to high school together, after graduation she moved in with my Mom and I after my dad passed. She lived with us for about 2 years. Somewhere along the way my end of the friendship started to deteriorate and I really began to resent her. Needless to say we went our seperate ways. She married a cop and moved to Ct. I married Henri and avoided her like the plague. It didn't take long before we lost contact and 6 years passed by. Strangely enough she popped up last week on a web site that Henri belongs to and sent him an e-mail. Within an hour I was on the phone with her and we were catching up. It seemed good to talk to her again. I feel like I owe her an apology wich I havent done yet, I intend to do face to face. She's been through alot. She lost both her parents, an aunt and an uncle all within a very short period of time, her husbands infadelity wich eventually led to the fact that he left her and she fought prescription drug addiction, diabetes, and depression through it all. I should have been there....I feel terrible.
Hopefully we can get together this weekend and I can make my peace.

The weekend

I had a busy weekend. Friday night got together with some friends from work at the Parrot in Cataumet. Had a couple Mojitos and alot of laughs....My friend Andy stopped by when we were there one other time and his comment to me afterwards was that he felt like he was in an episode of Sex in the City if that tells ya where were all at.

Saturday was Mom's birthday. I made her my most fabulous chocolate cake, and she and I split the work of our favorite dinner.... Cape Cod turkey. It's salt cod in a white sauce topped with friend salt pork, it's drippings, and white onion soaked in vinegar. I know it sounds horrific, but it is SO damned good. Weve been having that dinner for special occasions for ever. Andy showed up as he always shows up whenever Cape Cod Turkey dinner and my chocolate cake are in the same room. We had a great time. Andy is a friend of mine who I met in high school in 1985. Weve been inseperable ever since. He's also Carlie's God Father, and he is just too cute with her. She has him wrapped right around her little finger and he LOVES it.

Sunday we went out for breakfast with Andy and his new girlfriend ( love her!) then home to get a drawing done. That's a whole other blog story in itself.

Time to get Carlie ready for school. Thanks for reading!
